The Farm
Penhale Farm covers 360 acres set within the Menabilly Estate. It is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty as well as a Site of Special Scientific Interest. We are proud to have just completed Soil Association Organic Certification.
The farm produces mainly wheat and barley, and we also have a small herd of cattle. Recently we have increased our flock of chickens, from 50 to 300, and the girls have a large new home with lots of space outdoors to roam around. They have been busy laying lots of eggs which have become a popular seller at the farm gate. In the future we hope to be able to sell our organic free range eggs to local restaurants and shops.
For the last few years we have also been growing delicious organic winter vegetables like broccoli, cabbages and cauliflowers, which have also sold very well at our farm gate, with a surplus going to the local greengrocer and on to local restaurants.We hope to continue to develop new ideas and to eventually provide our summer visitors with fresh Cornish produce grown right on the farm.
