Padstow May Day
Join in the popular traditional celebrations in Padstow, where you can get a chance to see the famous 'Obby Oss' procession.
It gets very busy and car parks and streets in the old town are closed to traffic. Advice is to get there early. There is a field at the top of the town near the Tesco supermarket where a park and ride service is available. You can also park in the village of Rock across the estuary and take the regular ferry across to Padstow.

The Hall Walk, Fowey/Polruan
This well known, popular local walk takes you over the river from Fowey to Polruan and back. Meet above the ferry landing at Bodinnick at 10.30am. The walk is about 4 miles and ends at around 3pm. You can return to Fowey on the Polruan Ferry. You will need money for fares on both ferries. Bring a picnic lunch. The terrain is steep and rocky in parts and may be muddy. The walk may not be suitable for those with mobility problems.

'Steam Beer and Jazz', Bodmin & Wenford Railway
Come and enjoy the live music of the Pennyroyal Jazz Band, together with the sight, sound and smell of a working steam locomotive.
The evening starts from 6pm, when the band plays on the station platform, with the musical entertainment then continuing throughout the evening on board the train, which departs at 7pm.

Boconnoc House & Garden Open Day, Nr Lostwithiel
The Woodland Gardens and Boconnoc House are open to visit on Sunday 5 May. The gardens are set amongst mature trees which provide the backcloth for exotic spring flowering shrubs, woodland plants, with newly-planted magnolias and a fine collection of hydrangeas. The main house has been restored over the last ten years and is open to the public to look round and learn the colourful history of Boconnoc.
Gates are open from 2 – 5pm. Entry is £4.50 per person. Children under 12 can enter for free.

Guided Tour of Boconnoc House and Estate, Nr Lostwithiel
Boconnoc will be opening its doors for guided tours for three dates in 2013 to all those interested in learning the fascinating history of this beautiful estate and to explore the house and gardens.
Boconnoc is the largest park in Cornwall with history dating back to Doomsday. During the tour you will discover the colourful history including the story of how Boconnoc was bought in 1717 with the proceeds of the Pitt Diamond, by Thomas Pitt, once Governor of Madras. The estate is proud of its ties with three Prime Ministers and you will have the chance to see the bedroom King Charles I hid in during the Civil War.
The tour lasts three hours and includes a Cornish cream tea. Advanced booking is essential.
