'Waiting for Godot', St Austell Community Centre & Arts Theatre
Presented by the St Austell Players, as a contribution to this year's du Maurier Festival, Waiting for Godot was first performed in 1953 and has been described as one of the most influential plays of the 20th Century; a prime example of the theatre of the absurd.
Two tramps wait on a desolate country road for a mysterious third figure, Godot, who might, or might not, turn up. Described by its author as a tragi-comedy in two acts, it is capable of any number of interpretations, revolving around the meaning of human existence!
