The Hall Walk, Fowey/Polruan

This well known, popular local walk takes you over the river from Fowey to Polruan and back. Meet above the ferry landing at Bodinnick at 10.30am. The walk is about 4 miles and ends at around 3pm. You can return to Fowey on the Polruan Ferry. You will need money for fares on both ferries. Bring a picnic lunch. The terrain is steep and rocky in parts and may be muddy. The walk may not be suitable for those with mobility problems.

Royal Cornwall Show, Wadebridge

This has been Cornwall’s showcase since it was first held back in 1793 and as you’d expect from a county show, a fascinating glimpse into rural life in the county. Apart from the livestock judging, there is the famous flower tent decked out with wonderful displays from individuals and local nurseries.

The main ring offers a full three days of entertainment featuring different headline acts each year, as well as show jumping and inter-hunt relay. There is also a full programme of entertainment and demonstrations in the countryside area, alongside Cornish heritage and Cornish wrestling. You’ll find busy marquees dedicated to goats and rare breeds, cage birds and poultry, bees and rabbits, there’s a major dog show, a traditional steam fair, the Cornwall Festival of Dance, forestry and if that’s not enough then there’s the motor fair, agricultural machinery, crafts, health and beauty ... in fact, something for all the family. Looe Lugger Regatta

This bi-annual regatta in the town of Looe is a celebration of the area’s fishing heritage. During the regatta, the Luggers compete in six races spread over the two days of competition. There is also entertainment on Saturday evening in Looe fish market.

In the west of the town, you can watch the races out at sea from the large beach and harbour. Across the river in west Looe you can get a grandstand view on the long stretch of Hannafore beach overlooking Looe Island.

'Steam Beer and Jazz', Bodmin & Wenford Railway

Enjoy live music from the Pennyroyal Jazz Band, together with the sight, sound and smell of a working steam locomotive. Boconnoc will be opening its doors for guided tours for three dates in 2013 to all those interested in learning the fascinating history of this beautiful estate and to explore the house and gardens.
Boconnoc is the largest park in Cornwall with history dating back to Doomsday. During the tour you will discover the colourful history including the story of how Boconnoc was bought in 1717 with the proceeds of the Pitt Diamond, by Thomas Pitt, once Governor of Madras. The estate is proud of its ties with three Prime Ministers and you will have the chance to see the bedroom King Charles I hid in during the Civil War.
